  • Can I only attend training courses at your company as a partner?

    Yes. Our training courses are currently reserved exclusively for our partners and can only be booked by them.

  • Are the training courses suitable for me?

    Our training courses are aimed exclusively at specialist fitters, electricians, planners and sales partners and are tailored to their respective needs and applications. We do not offer pure user training courses, but the implementation of these is part of our training content. The actual instruction for users in situ is carried out directly by our internationally certified installers, electricians, planners and sales partners on completion of the project. For detailed information on our training offer, we recommend that you contact your personal contact.

  • In which language are the trainings held?

    Depending on the location, our training courses are held in the local language and in English.

  • Where do the training sessions take place?

    Our training courses take place – depending on the area or training content – in Europe and Asia at different locations and in different languages. We have a total of 14 training locations worldwide in the following countries:

    In Vienna alone, more than 200 training courses are held annually in three of the best-equipped facilities.

  • Do I have to come to Vienna for a training?

    No. Our training courses take place at various locations in Europe and Asia. We have a total of 14 training locations worldwide. In addition to that, we offer online trainings in various formats and languages as well.

  • Are the training courses also useful for me as a fire safety professional?

    Of course. Our training courses not only provide general knowledge about fire safety, but also specific knowledge about our solutions and products in the field of fire alarms, which will enable you to successfully enter the market. In addition, you will receive a manufacturer's certificate, which may be a prerequisite for participating in tenders and/or placing orders.

  • Is the Securwatch system in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)?

    Yes. The RTLS solution offered ensures that both the "right to be forgotten", i.e. the permanent deletion of all personal data, and the "right to data transferability", i.e. the transmission of a complete list of all stored personal data, are respected.

  • What does DIN VDE 0834 certified mean?

    DIN VDE 0834 is the leading standard for the planning and execution of call systems. This external certification for the Visocall IP all-in-one communication system confirms that our solution meets the highest requirements in terms of security and reliability.

  • What loudspeakers are available?

    We offer all types of loudspeakers in standard and EN 54-24 design. In addition, some loudspeakers are available with additional attributes and certificates. Our contact persons will be heppy to help you to check your requirements.

  • How often do the systems require maintenance?

    With PA/VA systems there is usually no need for intensive service or maintenance work. From time to time and depending on the ambient conditions, it is recommended to check the air circulation for cooling the units and – if applicable – the dust filter mats used and to replace them if necessary.

    Depending on local regulations, it may also be necessary to check the current usage behaviour of the rooms to be evacuated and the arrangement of the loudspeakers at regular intervals. The focus here is to ensure that an alarm announcement is made with the necessary volume and minimum speech intelligibility (>0.5). Also, battery exchange for the emergency power supply is usually prescribed in a 4-year cycle.

  • Is it possible to connect to a fire alarm control panel?

    Yes. A connection to our Integral EvoxX fire alarm control panel is possible for automated alarm notification and evacuation. Integration is possible either by means of monitored control contacts or via our digital control connection.

  • Is a nationwide service possible?

    Yes. In Austria, with locations in all provinces, a 24/7 support hotline and around 200 technicians, we ensure that your service requests are processed quickly and that all measures for the maintenance of your systems are taken efficiently and in a targeted manner. Internationally, we work together with certified specialist companies and specialist technicians.

    Our service portal for customers and partners is also available around the clock to retrieve details about our products and systems and access a service desk for technical inquiries.

  • I have an old fire alarm system. Can I modernise it?

    Yes, we can modernise any existing system. This is particularly easy and convenient with a Schrack Seconet system. Our fire alarm control panels have always been characterised by the fact that they are completely backwards compatible. In most cases, it is sufficient to modernize module racks as well as modules if necessary or on demand in order to have full access to the latest and most modern functions. In addition, it can be useful to replace individual system components such as operating panels, fire detectors etc. step by step or to expand your system with them. In a personal consultation, we will be happy to discuss your needs and the various possibilities.

  • Is remote access to my fire alarm control panels possible?

    Yes. With Integral Remote, it is possible to display and operate our fire alarm and extinguisher control panels remotely. It is the ideal solution for convenient monitoring of systems at different locations directly at the workplace. Flexible real-time notifications on a smartphone or tablet are also possible. Integral Remote supports all platforms.

  • What does fully redundant mean?

    All elements of the Integral EvoxX are duplicated. In the event of one element failing, the duplicated element will take over operation without interruption. This complete redundancy ensures maximum fail safety.

  • Is it possible to combine the fire alarm control panel with an extinguishing control panel?

    Yes. Schrack Seconet can combine an extinguishing control panel and a fire alarm control panel into one case. For you, this means maximum flexibility, optimised costs and a time to fire fighting reduced to a minimum.

    By the way: As unique as our combination of fire alarm control panel and extinguishing control panel is our extinguishing assistant, which enables fully automatic basic configuration for all extinguishing system sizes.

  • Can the fire detectors be painted by the customer?

    No. For proper colouring, it is necessary to disassemble a fire detector into individual parts. However, this leads to the loss of the calibration and thus the approval. A paint test without dismantling into individual parts can in turn lead to contamination of the measuring chamber and the temperature sensor - and thus to faulty functioning.

  • Is time-controlled switching between heat and smoke detection possible?

    Yes. Our Cubus automatic fire detectors can be configured to be time-controlled and can detect heat during the day and smoke at night, for example. This setting is mostly used in commercial kitchens. 

  • Where are the multiple sensor detectors manufactured

    Our fire detectors all come from our own production and are developed and produced by our group sister Hekatron in Germany.

  • Where can I register for the training courses?

    You can register for training courses via your personal contact at Schrack Seconet or the branch manager responsible for you. They will also be happy to inform you about available dates and coordinate any specific training requirements with you.   • Is a training for your solutions and products mandatory?

    Yes. In order to successfully place all our solutions and products as well as their extensive possibilities and functions in the market and make them available to your customers in their entirety, our training courses are both necessary and recommended. After successfully completing a training course, you will receive a manufacturer certificate, which attests to your expertise and competence and supports you in tenders and the receipt of orders.

  • Can I connect existing systems?

    Yes. Our PA/VA systems can be easily connected to existing PA/VA systems of other manufacturers by means of control contacts and analogue audio channels.

  • Can I network several locations?

    Yes, it's possible. The APS® technology helps to save costs in networking. A standard network connection via Local Area Network (LAN) is sufficient to transmit data and digital audio signals simultaneously over long distances. 

  • Do I get a certificate after a successfully completed training?

    Yes. After successfully completing a training course, you will receive a manufacturer certificate from us as proof of your expert knowledge of our solutions and products and your ability to commission, configure and/or operate them – depending on the training content. This manufacturer certificate is required in many cases in order to successfully participate in tenders and / or receive orders.

  • Do I need an additional fire alarm control panel?

    No. Schrack Seconet can combine an extinguishing control panel and a fire alarm control panel into one case. For you, this means maximum flexibility, optimised costs and a time to fire fighting reduced to a minimum.

  • Which types of extinguishing systems can be controlled?

    The Integral EvoxX single- and multizone extinguishing control panell enables the control of a wide range of gas and water extinguishing systems.

  • I need very fast early fire detection in extreme ambient conditions, what would be the right fire detector for this?

    Our aspirating smoke detectors are among the most precise and reliable fire early warning systems in modern fire detection. The detectors boast unrivalled performance, robustness and detection reliability and can react highly sensitively to fires. Depending on the application, the use of special accessories may also be useful.

    As an alternative to our aspirating smoke detectors, our ADW and LIST linear heat detectors can also be used. 

  • I would like to monitor my food production using a fire alarm system. However, a smoke detector is out of the question due to the ambient conditions. What would be the right fire detector for this?

    Our ADW line-type heat detector with corresponding sensing tube is suitable for this application. It is particularly reliable, available in stainless steel and therefore ideal for hygienic use in food production.

  • I want a selective alarm evaluation in my production plant. The standard multiple sensor detector is out of question due to the extreme chemical environmental conditions. What is the correct fire detector?

    Our LIST line-type heat detector is ideal for this application. The addressable heat detector cable enables selectable sensor distances, branches and single temperature sensors and is characterised by precise detection, high reaction speed and easy repair if necessary.

  • I need a reliable detection system for my aircraft hangar. Which special detectors are suitable?

    Linear smoke detectors or our highly sensitive smoke aspiration system are ideal for use in rooms with high ceilings.

  • What do I have to consider when planning special fire detectors?

    The planning of special fire detectors is a very complex matter due to the areas of application or environments. Primarily, it is important to know which ambient conditions are present in situ and which physical quantities (smoke, heat etc...) are to be detected. In addition, operating procedures must be taken into account when selecting and positioning the special detectors. Our specialists will be happy to provide you with comprehensive planning and advice.

  • Can different locations be networked with each other?

    Yes. With our network solution Integral LAN, several Integral EvoxX systems in one building and with Integral WAN in different buildings as well as at different locations worldwide can be interconnected.

  • What types of fire detectors are available?

    Modern fire detectors can be roughly divided into three groups:

    1. Non-automatic fire detectors (manual alarm notification)
    2. Automatic fire detectors
    3. Special fire detectors for special applications

    Depending on the type of sensor technology, automatic fire detectors are divided into multiple sensor detectors, smoke detectors, heat detectors, fire gas detectors (CO) and flame detectors.

  • What is the difference between multiple sensor detectors and smoke detectors?

    Multiple sensor detectors work with several different sensors and thus combine different fire detection systems in one device (e.g. smoke detectors, heat detectors and fire gas detectors). This means that only one detector is required for all applications.

    Smoke detectors only have one sensor and are only triggered if smoke particles enter the measuring chamber, these smoke particles scatter a light beam emitted by an infrared diode and parts of this scattered light fall on a light-sensitive sensor (scattered light principle). Smoke detectors are mainly used to detect smouldering fires.

  • What criteria are used to select a suitable fire detector?

    1. Predominant environmental and ambient conditions
    2. the room height
    3. and the expected fire characteristics

  • How are the quantity and arrangement of the fire detectors determined?

    On the one hand, the quantity and arrangement of the automatic fire detectors depends on nationally applicable standards / guidelines and, on the other hand, it depends on the type of detectors used, the room geometry, the type of use and on the ambient conditions in the rooms to be monitored. The detectors must be selected in such a way as to reliably detect fires in their formation phase and to prevent deceptive alarms.

  • Are the fire detectors available in different colours?

    Yes. Our fire detectors can be provided in all RAL colours on request. Optionally, up to two gloss levels are possible (silk matt and gloss). However, our fire detectors are white (RAL 9003) as standard.

  • What support services do you offer?

    Our Technical Support is available during our support hours for any device- or system-specific questions as well as problems with professional operation, troubleshooting or programming.

  • How does remote access by support work?

    In direct coordination with our support engineers, we provide you with remote access software that enables us to access your system. Please note that for remote access, it is essential that a person is present in situ.

  • When is the support available?

    Our support team is available at the following times (CET):

    • Friday from 07:30 to 13:30

  • Is it necessary to regularly service, inspect or check my installation?

    Yes. This is the most important prerequisite for a safe and reliable operation of your facility. With around 200 technicians throughout Austria, we offer you qualified maintenance, service and inspection or product-related and individually tailored services.

  • According to which standards and specifications do you provide your services?

    The high quality of service provided by Schrack Seconet is documented by a quality assurance system which has been certified in accordance with ISO 9001 for all company divisions. In Austria, fire alarm systems are maintained according to ÖNORM F 3070 and communication systems according to DIN VDE 0834 . In addition, our services are based on the manufacturer's specifications of the respective products.

  • What are the advantages of a multimedia terminal (bedside terminal) compared to a conventional TV set for patients?

    The Multimedia Terminal or Bedside Terminal is a service terminal. Every patient hears, sees or reads what they are interested in at the moment and controls comfortably what is important for them at the moment. Light, compact and brilliant, the tablets offer clinics, patients and nursing staff the exact support they need. The tablet can also be used to display medical content without privacy concerns at the point of care.

    What'll it be? A film from the media library? Planning a relaxed menu for the next few days? Information on therapy?

  • Are the strict hygiene rules and regulations for hospitals and care homes observed?

    Yes. TV & Multimedia solutions from Schrack Seconet meet the highest hygiene requirements and have a stable, closed, welded and smooth front made of tempered glass. There is no unhygienic IR remote control and no output via remote control units.

  • Is the operation of the devices simple?

    Yes. Our solutions offer simple, intuitive operation directly on the device using a 10-point multi-touchscreen as known from common tablets. Alternatively, convenient output via our patient terminal of the Visocall IP communication platform is possible. Therefore no additional or separate remote control is necessary.

  • How easy is it to configure the TV & Multimedia devices?

    The configuration is carried out by means of a central device management via PC, smartphone or directly at the terminal.

  • Why do I need a Securwatch system?

    For the support and relief of personnel resources and the protection of patients! Automated processes help your staff to become more efficient and avoid errors caused by manual entries. Your nursing staff can therefore devote themselves to their daily care activities in a more concentrated and efficient manner and are not permanently distracted or disturbed by other factors.

  • How does alarm notification work?

    The alarm is triggered by defined information from the organisational requirements and specifications of the respective hospital or care home. All possible types of alarm are defined together with us, worked out and entered into the RTLS system. It is very important to us to meet the individual requirements of the respective operator.

    Alarms are displayed both on the DECT telephones or smartphones made available to staff by the operator (no private smartphones) and on the Visocall IP components (e.g. Staff Terminal). The RTLS system is connected to our call system via ESPA interface (ESPA 4.4.4. and ESPA-X).

  • How do I connect the Securwatch system to external systems (e.g. alarm server, DECT system etc.)?

    We are always very interested in keeping up with the state-of-the-art technology and try to provide up-to-date interfaces in our development department as soon as possible so that we remain competitive and can offer our customers added value through compatibility and flexibility.

    Existing state-of-the-art interfaces are, for example:

    • HL7 (especially for connection to hospital information systems "KIS" and medical devices)
    • ESPA X (bidirectional connection for RTLS and other third-party systems)
    • ESPA 4.4.4 (easy connection for RTLS and other third­party systems)
  • How exactly is it possible to localise the persons?

    Floor by floor, room by room and / or if required down to a few meters (about 1.5 metres) in real time.

    The positioning accuracy depends on how many position markers are used. This is comparable with the mobile telephone and data network: The closer the transmitter network is, the more comprehensive and powerful the radio coverage.

  • What are the long-term benefits of the Securwatch system?

    The long-term advantages of the Securwatch real-time localisation system are:

    • Cost savings through optimal use of personnel resources
    • Relief of the staff in the daily nursing routine
    • Individual freedom of movement of the patients with dementia, or those who are disoriented easily or suffer from a mental illness

    An immediate alarm notification in emergency situations with location-specific determination of the incident is guaranteed and helps staff to implement immediate and efficient measures so that the patient and / or colleagues can be helped quickly.

  • How do I know if a patient is in the safe area?

    A walking direction detection system signals whether a patient is moving from a safe area or within a safe area. Therefore, no "unnecessary" alarms are triggered.

  • Is the system protected against vandalism?

    Thanks to the possibility of remote antennas, some readers can be positioned in the room (e.g. suspended ceiling mounting, etc.) in such a way that they are "out of reach" for patients. Should damage to system components nevertheless occur, this is immediately detected and a technical alarm is triggeried (all system components are permanently monitored).

  • Why do I need a nurse call system?

    A nurse call system or our all-in-one communication solution Visocall IP relieves your staff and makes life easier for everyone involved in patient care. For example, from more independent patientswho can carry out simple services completely without assistance, to mobile applications for more freedom of movement or targeted alarm notifications without unnecessary detours

    Through targeted distribution of information, 50 percent of your staff's walking distances can be reduced.

  • I have an old Visocall Plus system from Schrack Seconet. Can I extend this or do I have to replace everything?

    When developing our solutions, we pay attention to absolute investment security through backward compatibility and ability to modernise. Visocall IP is therefore 100% compatible with Visocall Plus. It is therefore not absolutely necessary to replace Visocall Plus.

  • Can I connect external systems with a Schrack Seconet call system?

    Yes. Various interfaces and protocols offer different possibilities for connection to external systems such as existing fire alarm systems, telephone systems, billing systems, heating and ventilation systems and much more.

  • What does contamination compensation or contamination prediction mean?

    Multiple sensor detectors and smoke detectors are only triggered if smoke particles enter the measuring chamber, these smoke particles scatter a light beam emitted by an infrared diode and parts of this scattered light fall on a light-sensitive sensor (scattered light principle). Over years, more and more dirt particles get into this measuring chamber, which can lead to deceptive and false alarms.

    Our automatic fire detectors permanently monitor your measuring chamber for contamination. If dirt particles are detected in the measuring chamber, they adjust their alarm sensitivity so that the detector remains reliable and fully functional regardless of its contamination. This process is called pollution compensation.

    By means of the contamination prediction, the detector independently provides information when replacement becomes necessary and the contamination compensation is no longer sufficient. 

  • What is the difference between smoke detectors and fire detectors in a fire alarm system?

    According to European standards, smoke alarms cannot and must not be used with an automatic fire alarm system that ensures reliable alarm notification of action forces. Therefore, smoke alarms are mainly used on the house and apartment market, where there are no official requirements for an automatic fire alarm system. In addition, smoke alarms are powered by batteries and it must be possible to check their function manually – e.g. by pressing a button.
